The RAPID—Rheumatoid Arthritis: A Primary Care Initiative for Improved Diagnosis and Outcomes—educational initiative addresses the critical importance of the primary care clinician in the early diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis, the benefits of early/aggressive therapy, as well as diagnostic and patient management algorithms designed to improve patient care.
The RAPID Planning Committee consists of representatives from both the rheumatology and primary care sectors and features some of the leaders in the field of rheumatoid arthritis as faculty.
Primary Care Management of Rheumatoid Arthritis: Making the Diagnosis and Optimizing Outcomes
This monograph focuses on the role of the primary care provider in diagnosing and managing rheumatoid arthritis and devotes particular attention to identifying situations when a rheumatologist should be consulted. A patient education pamphlet providing an overview of the disease is included in the monograph.
